QUESTION NO. 14

QUESTION: Councillor G. Kenny

To ask the Chief Executive whether he will review the reinstatement of a housing services counter at Clondalkin Civic Offices

REPLY:

We are currently reviewing the use of Clondalkin Civic Offices to determine how the space can be used most effectively. As current service usage is relatively low, the review will assess demand and consider whether the space could be better used to accommodate the needs of the local community.

The Housing Department provide accessible services through a combination of in-person and digital channels. Customers who require face-to-face assistance may attend the housing customer services centre at County Hall, Tallaght. Estate management and community safety clinics are available in the Clondalkin area, providing local opportunities for residents to engage with relevant housing staff.

Housing services are available 24 hours a day through the Housing Online portal. Customers can access Choice Based Lettings, apply for social housing support, report a maintenance issue, view rent account balances and transactions, and apply for private housing grants.

Customers are encouraged to register for Housing Online, as increased use of the portal will help us improve service delivery by enabling requests and applications to be managed more efficiently, providing quicker access to information and allowing staff to focus support on service users who need additional assistance.
