Can the Chief Executive provide a breakdown of existing and planned Age Friendly housing within the Lucan area compared with other areas of the County, including provision relative to the older population in each area and advise whether the current and planned level of provision in Lucan is considered sufficient to meet future demand?

As part of the preparation of the Housing Delivery Action Plan 2027-2030 (HDAP), a comprehensive Housing Need and Demand Assessment (HNDA) has been undertaken, which includes consideration of the current and projected housing requirements of older persons across the County. The findings of this assessment will inform the establishment of specific targets for the delivery of age-friendly housing during the lifetime of the HDAP.
 
The council is committed to supporting older persons to live independently within their communities for as long as possible and continues to review all opportunities to provide housing developments that facilitate ageing in place. We will continue to monitor housing need and demographic changes and to explore opportunities to expand the supply of suitable accommodation for older persons as part of our ongoing housing delivery programme.
