MOTION: Councillor C. Brady

That this committee calls on the Chief Executive to liaise with the contractor working in Lucan Village regarding the replacement of the Christmas tree removed in July, and to ensure that the replacement tree is of a suitable size and specification to serve as the village Christmas tree for the annual Lucan Lights Festival.

REPORT:

As part of the public realm improvement works in Lucan Village, the Contractor installed a fir tree as a Christmas tree. However, the tree subsequently failed to establish and has since been removed.

The Council is liaising with the Contractor regarding the provision of a replacement fir tree, and the council has been informed that a tree will be provided this autumn.
