QUESTION: Councillor K. Keane

"To ask the committee to address the issue of the playground in Carrigmore Citywest .The playground as a whole is in good shape but the older part is suffering wear and tear particularly the surface near some play equipment?"

REPLY:

The playground at Carrigmore, Citywest was substantially upgraded approximately two years ago and remains generally in good condition. The area will be inspected to ensure that all play equipment and surfacing continue to meet the required standards. In addition to routine maintenance, the playground is subject to weekly operational inspections and independent quarterly inspections. Any wear and tear identified, particularly in older sections of the playground, will be assessed and appropriate maintenance or remedial works undertaken as required.
