"What is the average time someone is housed from a homeless hub in the Tallaght area?"

REPLY:

It is not possible to provide an average timeframe for households being housed from a homeless hub in Tallaght, as the timeframe is dependent on a number of factors including, household composition, assessed housing need, areas of preference and the availability of suitable accommodation. In addition, many homeless households may initially be accommodated in emergency accommodation provided through the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive (DRHE) outside our administrative area until a suitable vacancy becomes available in an SDCC-supported hub or temporary accommodation facility.

A new family hub has recently opened in the Tallaght area. Families from Tallaght who are on our housing list and are residing in temporary emergency accommodation provided by the DRHE are prioritised for placement in family hub accommodation within the Tallaght area as suitable vacancy become available, with consideration given, to locating families as close as possible to their existing support networks.

We continue to prioritise social housing allocations for households experiencing homelessness. In 2025, 206 homeless households were allocated secure and permanent social housing tenancies, with a further 135 such allocations completed as of 31 August 2026.
