MOTION: Councillor A. Hayes

This committee requests that SDCC install double headed lamps on the existing street lights in the vicinity of the Palmerstown Footbridge over the R148, in particular on the southern side where the ramp is extra dark due to the large trees growing in the middle of the spiral walkway.

REPORT:

 We have assessed the location in question and we have requested our contractor install a double header fitting on the existing PL column on R148 on the Kennelsfort Road side of the bridge. 

The existing tree on the Palmerstown Village side of the R148 is blocking any spill from the existing PL column on that side. We are working with Public Realm to prune these trees. We will reassess the light levels on that side again when the pruning has taken place and will install an additional double header if necessary.
