QUESTION: Councillor Y. Collins
To ask for an update in connection with the installation of the EV charging points at the car park in Rosemount Shopping Centre, Ballyroan.
REPLY:
SDCC plan to install public destination EV charging points in the carpark at Rosemount Shopping Centre, as part of a rollout of public EV charging at 15 sites across South Dublin under a contract with ePower as the Chargepoint Operator.
Advance works were carried out at this location as part of the District Enhancement Scheme to minimise further works that would be needed to facilitate the Public EV Charging points. Minor works are now required to finalise the provision of 2 No EV chargers in line with the connection capacity agreed by ESB and to meet the Universal Design Guidelines set out by ZEVI. This will provide two public EV charging spaces that are accessible to all users and two Age Friendly parking spaces.
The minor civil and electrical works have commenced on site. Once the civil works are completed, there is an estimated 12 week timeframe for the final connection to be signed off by the ESB, followed by electrical live testing and commissioning to allow the sites to be made 'live' for use by the public.
