QUESTION: Councillor Y. Collins

To ask for an update in connection with the findings of the inspection of the wall at Lower Dodder Road and whether remedial or strengthening works are required.

REPLY:

Further to the inspection carried out by our Engineering Team, we can confirm that the cracks identified are not structural in nature. Both sides of the wall were observed on the site visit.

The wall is in a good stable condition, with no evidence of leaning, but with minor narrow cracking noted, including one vertical crack and a crack along the joint of the capping. It should be noted that there was minor vegetation growth from the cracks which suggest that the cracks have been in existence for some time.

Based on the inspection, no structural or stengthening works are considered necessary at this time. We will keep the location on file for review at a later stage.
