QUESTION: Councillor J. Sinnott
To ask the Chief Executive if an update can be provided in relation to how Service Level Agreements with utility companies are progressing the removal of graffiti across the South Dublin County Council area.
REPLY:
SDCC continues to engage with ESB Networks regarding the removal of graffiti from utility-owned infrastructure throughout the County.
Public Realm staff have been in contact with ESB Networks to develop an agreed approach to the treatment and removal of graffiti from ESB utility boxes, ensuring that any works can be carried out safely and with the agreement of the asset owner. Discussions in relation to these arrangements remain ongoing but progress has been slow. Once an agreed approach has been finalised with ESB Networks, it is intended that this will be reflected in an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both parties.
Following this process, the council will engage with other utility companies to review and update existing arrangements where appropriate, with the aim of improving the coordination and effectiveness of graffiti removal on utility-owned infrastructure across the County.
