QUESTION NO. 6

QUESTION: Councillor P. Holohan

To ask the Chief Executive how many apartments units, both social and private, have been built since 2019 and how many parking spaces are available for each unit?

REPLY:

Our current Housing Delivery Action Plan covers the period 2022–2026 and includes delivery through our direct build programme and through Approved Housing Bodies under the Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) and Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS). Since 2022, a total of 2,498 apartments which includes duplexes have been delivered as social homes.

The Housing Department does not maintain a centralised record of the number of parking spaces associated with each apartment unit delivered, as many social homes form part of larger mixed-tenure developments comprising social, affordable and private housing. Parking provision is determined at planning stage on a scheme-by-scheme basis and varies depending on the location, scale and nature of the development.
