DECLARATION OF ROADS TO BE MADE PUBLIC ROADS

(a) Report on TIC of  (Part Of), Adamstown, Co. Dublin

REPLY:

South Dublin County Council proposes to take in charge (TIC) Adamstown Boulevard (part of).  This TIC proposal was advertised in a Public Consultation on the 16 April 2026 and the details of that public notice are detailed below:

STATUTORY NOTICE OF CONSIDERATION OF AREAS TO BE MADE PUBLIC

Section 11 of the Roads Act, 1993 (as amended) and Section 180 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended)

In accordance with the provisions of Section 11 of the Roads Act, 1993, South Dublin County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to consider the making of a declaration that the roads listed hereunder be public roads.

Adamstown Boulevard

In accordance with the provisions of Section 180 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Council considers the Taking in Charge of the Class 1 green open spaces (where applicable), sewers, watermains, storm drains and public lighting within the attendant ground of the development.

Please note that Class 1 large green areas will be Taken in Charge and cut by the Council, however the small verge grass areas will be Taken in Charge but the maintenance / grass cutting of these areas will remain the responsibility of the residents of the estate.

Objections or representations regarding of the above proposals may be made via the portal or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Planning and Transport, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24, D24 A3XC.

The latest date for receipt of postal objections or representations via the portal is 29th May 2026.

Submissions Received:

No submissions were received by the Council during the prescribed time period.

CE Recommendation:

The proposed infrastructure that is intended for taking in charge is built to a high quality standard which conforms to the South Dublin County Council taking charge standards.

ACM recommendation:

This Headed Item was brought to the Lucan Palmerstown North Clondalkin Area Committee meeting on the 23 June 2026.  The Committee members were happy with the TIC proposal and recommended that the item be brought to Full Council on the 13 July 2026 for final decision.

TIC Approval Decision:

That South Dublin County Council agree to take in charge the Adamstown Boulevard (part of) and associated infrastructure contained in the attached TIC map and roads schedule in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act, 1993 and in accordance with the provisions of Section 180 of the Planning and development Act 2000 as amended.
