REPLY:

The Anti-Social Policy that was adopted by the Council last year has brought a new emphasis and clarity to the Council’s processes, while new procedures that were put in place falling from this Policy have helped to greatly improve our Service.

For your information, the following are some statistics relating to the Council’s Service since the Policy was adopted -

Complaints responded to –                               1577

Housecalls -                                                          1571

Formal Interviews held –                                    732

Meetings with Garda Siochana -                      368

Warnings issued –                                              139

Excluding Orders –                                              4

(Orders sought by tenants where Council were supporting)

Pre-emptive surrenders –                                  3

(Where an anti-social tenant avoided eviction by surrendering their accommodation)

Eviction Notices Served -                                   9

(Of these cases, 6 of the tenants have left on foot of the Eviction Notice while 3 cases are being prepared for court at present)

The operation of the Council’s Anti-Social Service is kept under review in order that the use of our Statutory Powers can be optimised and that investigation and case development work is efficient and responsive. The Council will continue to liaise with the Gardai, the Health and Education services, the Community and public representatives in tackling Anti-Social Behaviour.

In relation to the current number of Anti-Social live cases in the county these breakdown as follows –

Lucan/Clondalkin – 152
