MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That this Area Committee requests, on behalf of Saggart Tidy Towns, that SDCC issue a report into what SDCC has done to get ESB, Eir, and other utilities companies to undertake graffiti removal in central locations in Saggart Village on their boxes.

REPORT:

SDCC have been working closely with the ESB in relation to the removal of graffiti on their boxes around South Dublin county. Public Realm are looking at ways in which we can remove the graffiti from the ESB boxes safely and through agreement with the ESB. 

Once this agreement has been reached, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be agreed and signed by both parties. Following the agreement with the ESB, Public Realm will meet with other utility companies that we currently have an MOU with to agree a new and updated MOU with them with an agreed approach and aim of reducing graffiti issues in this LEA as well as others.
