MOTION: Councillor R. Mannion
If Proposed Amendment no. 7 - Edmondstown lands proceeds, that the existing SLO ("to ensure that any future development has regard to the boundary with and protection of the amenity and function of Edmondstown Golf Course") in relation to the 'RES' zoned lands at Whitechurch - Edmondstown which adjoin the golf club lands to the South, be expanded to include all boundaries adjoining 'RES' zoned lands.
Additional proposers: William Carey, Louise Dunne, Daniel Loftus, Niamh Whelan
CE Response
The motion requests that, if the lands adjoining Edmondstown Golf Club, referred to in Amendment No. 7 proceed to residential rezoning, as proposed, a Specific Local Objective (SLO) similar to that applied to nearby residential lands to the south to be placed on these lands which states:
COS 4 SLO 5: To ensure that any future development has regard to the boundary with and protection of the amenity and function of Edmondstown Golf Course.
It is noted that a similar request was made during the public consultation on Variation No. 2. It was considered in the CE Report on the submissions that the existing SLO could be applied to these lands and that was sufficient. In the interest of clarity, it is recommended that a SLO be applied to the proposed residential zoned lands at Edmondstown Road.
Conclusion
It is recommended that an SLO be applied to the Amendment No. 7 lands at Edmondstown Road.
CE Recommendation
Subject to the RES zoning under Amendment no.7 - Edmondstown being approved, a new Specific Local Objective on the lands be inserted as follows:
CS7 SLO X: To ensure that any future residential development has regard to the boundary with and protection of the amenity and function of Edmondstown Golf Course.
