QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

To ask the Chief Executive for a detailed report into Corkagh House site excavations that includes site numbers, details of a tunnel, items found, etc., and how the public can access the excavation report.

REPLY:

Archaeological excavations took place in Corkagh Park during the construction of the new cafe, stage and hub area. No individual artefacts were found however the remnants of old foundations and drainage culverts were uncovered, including a section of an underground tunnel. A map outlining these elements can be passed on directly via email.
