MOTION NO.11

MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

That this committee agree to write to the Minister for Education Hildegarde Naughton to express our concern with the loss of a teacher in Gaelscoil Naomh Padraig in Lucan and in St Lorcan's in Palmerstown which means that classes will have to be combined, and request that the decision be reversed. In addition, we are calling for the Minister to change legislation and reduce the student-teacher ratio across the board.

REPORT:

If this motion is passed, a letter in this regard will be issued to the Minister for Education on behalf of the Local Area Committee. The response, when received, will be circulated to the Members.
