MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That this Area Committee support Cherrywood Residents Association who would like to make a flower display with 5 flower pots (attached drawings), and as SDCC has their own metal fabrication section in Deansrath depot we ask could they make it so that it can be assembled and disassembled depending on season. They have flower pots already; they are 48cm in diameter.

REPORT:

The metal fabrication section at Deansrath Depot is currently fully committed to delivering Improvement Work Programme projects, as well as maintaining and repairing existing fixtures and features in parks and open spaces. As a result, there is no capacity to take on additional work, such as the fabrication of a flower display stand.

The provision of such a feature would therefore need to be progressed by the Cherrywood Residents Association. Before advancing this proposal, the association should be advised to contact South Dublin County Council to seek approval if the feature is intended to be located on public land.
