"How many homes in the Tallaght south area have being retro fitted by SDCC in the last 5 years and how many are still to be done?"
REPLY:
The Energy Efficiency Retrofitting Programme (EERP) was launched with the aim of funding the retrofit of local authority social housing to improve the energy efficiency to a B2 Building Energy Rating (BER) or cost-optimal equivalent. The programme provides for a significant level of funding focusing on ensuring that the fabric of the home is upgraded. Key improvements include: installation of heat pumps, wall and attic insulation and new windows and doors.
To date, a total of 82 homes within the Tallaght South area have successfully undergone EERP works. A further 74 homes have been identified and are currently at the contractor stage, with completion anticipated this year.
Additional properties in the area will be identified through ongoing Stock Condition Surveys for inclusion in the energy retrofit programme. Continued investment in retrofitting our housing stock ensures that we provide high-quality, sustainable homes for the future.
