QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor W. Carey

To ask the Chief Executive if traffic management measures can be introduced at the bend on Ashwood Road to reduce speed from traffic travelling in and out of the estate. (This bend is located at the first turn in from the entrance.)

REPLY:

The Traffic Section acknowledges the concerns raised regarding vehicle speeds at the bend on Ashwood Road, particularly at the first turn in from the estate entrance.

The Traffic Section will install road markings comprising a continuous white line along the Ashwood Road corner and on the approach to the bend. These measures are intended to enhance driver awareness and improve overall road safety at this location.

Following the implementation of these markings, further assessments will be undertaken to determine the suitability of additional traffic calming measures. These measures will be considered with the aim of further improving safety for all road users at the Ashwood Road corner.
