That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to report on all heritage sites within the Lucan / Palmerstown / North Clondalkin LEA, including but not limited to the recent funding awarded to Aderrig, and to provide a comprehensive update to members. The report should identify the full range of heritage sites across the LEA and set out, for each site, its current status, whether any projects are active, planned or proposed, any funding secured or being pursued, and timelines for delivery where applicable, including both Council-owned and privately owned sites.

In response to the Motion please find attached a list of all relevant heritage and conservation projects identified within the LEA including the status, whether there is an active project on site, a planned or proposed project, funding secured or proposed alongside timelines for delivery. Column H also includes details relating the relevant area of responsibility.

Liffey Valley proposed Natural Heritage Area (pNHA)

 

Riverine habitats on both banks of the River Liffey, including woodland, meadows, and parkland.

‘Community and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy for the River Liffey Fish Migration Barriers Project’.  A partnership project with Fingal County Council, Dublin City Council, and Inland Fisheries Ireland, with an objective to restore effective fish passage on the river by altering/removing existing fish barriers and weirs where appropriate.

The preparation of a Conservation Management Plan. The project team which is led by Conservation Architects on behalf of private owner applicant are working on finalising a timeframe and will confirm shortly.

€30,000 (Stream 2-CMF 2026)

To be completed by 16th October as per CMF grant conditions.

Lucan House and Demesne

 

Lucan House and Demesne (House, Stables, Gate Lodges, Bath House, grounds, Church)

Lucan House and its surrounding Demesne will be regenerated and transformed to establish a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable visitor destination that enhances both community and tourism infrastructure in line

with the proposals of the Lucan house and Demesne Masterplan

€200,000 Thrive Funding for development of Masterplan. Funding opportunities being explored for next phase of development

Q4 2026 – Q4 2028. SDCC will deliver the masterplan through a phased approach, allowing for progressive opening of amenities and facilities
