That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to include the Paddocks in the 2026-2028 tree maintenance programme, following the taking in charge of the estate.

REPORT:

The 2026-2028 tree maintenance programme as presented to the ACM in November 2025 was compiled based on tree pruning requirement for locations that were in charge and under the maintenance of SDCC at the time.  Additional essential tree works are sometimes identified over the course of the programme and these are added as required.  It is important to note that adding locations to the programme can affect the delivery of the programme and must be considered in this context.  When a new estate is taken in charge it is not automatically added to the programme as there is an expectation that the trees in the estate will be up to taking in charge standards and not require any works for a number of years.

The Paddocks estate which was recently taken in charge will be inspected.  Any trees that are found to warrant essential works will be considered for inclusion in the programme subject to the availability to allocate resources without adversely affecting the overall delivery of the programme.
