QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

To ask the Chief Executive  to provide a comprehensive report into where the traffic survey and plan that was agreed in the County Development plan is at? Report to include a timeframe and steps.

REPLY: 

The following is an estimate of the programme and timelines envisaged for a Transport Assessment and Transport Plan to be commissioned for the western side of the County (including for public consultations and environmental assessments):

Stage 0: Draft Brief and Procurement Documentation, run procurement competition and appoint consultancy team (Q3 2026).

Stage 1: Baseline Assessment and Report/Issues Paper (Q4 2026)

Stage 2a: Establish Context for Transport Assessment and Plans (Q1 2027)

Stage 2b: Transport Options Development and Identification of Interim Measures (Q2 2027)

Stage 3a: Transport Network Assessment (Q2 2027)

Stage 3b: Appraise long list of Transport Options (Q3 2027)

Stage 3c: Assess short list of Transport Options (Q4 2027)

Stage 4: Draft and Finalise Transport Plan for Study Area and Local Transport Plans (Q4 2028)
