QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin

To ask the Chief Executive Executive how it was decided not to have vehicular access from Lindisfarne Lawns to the Lock View Road as part of the infill housing development between Lindisfarne and Melrose in Clondalkin?

REPLY:

It was considered unsuitable to provide an additional vehicular entrance or exit from Lindisfarne Lawns onto Lock View Road as part of this housing development. Lock View Road is a busy road, and creating a new access point had the potential to encourage cut-through or shortcut traffic through the established residential estate. This type of arrangement is generally avoided, as it can lead to increased road safety concerns within residential areas.
