That this area committee requests the reinstatement of the following public litter bins which have been removed: Stocking Lane - at the bus stop adjacent to Prospect Manor Whitechurch Estate - outside of the church Parklands Road - at the junction of Oakdale Road

REPORT:

The litter bin located at the bus stop opposite the entrance to Prospect Manor was removed due to ongoing incidents of illegal household waste dumping. Relocation was not feasible, as no suitable or safe alternative location could be identified that would allow for effective servicing. The area has continued to be monitored since the removal, and inspections have confirmed that there are no ongoing litter issues at this location.

The bin on Parklands Road was relocated approximately 100?metres (from https://maps.app.goo.gl/6Tq8f8CD94VYLuqU6 to the junction of Parklands Views – https://maps.app.goo.gl/7vRpcpYzNTWSQ6JC7). This relocation was necessary due to persistent dumping of medical waste at the original location. Since the bin was moved, the dumping issue has been resolved, and the bin continues to serve park users and the surrounding public realm.

The bin in Whitechurch Estate, beside the shops, was removed due to persistent household waste dumping. The area is currently considered to have adequate bin coverage, as Centra provides a bin at the shop entrance during daytime hours. It should be noted that this bin is removed overnight, as the retailer has also experienced issues with illegal dumping
