MOTION: Councillor C. Brady

That this Committee calls on South Dublin County Council to install secure storage cages in Airlie Park and Beech Park to support badly needed storage at these locations.

REPORT:

The all weather pitch at Airlie Park has a set of GAA goal posts and two sets of soccer posts in situ.  Clubs who book the pitch can avail of these goal posts.  There is no proposal to provide a goal post storage compound at Airlie Park.

The storage facilities which have been provided at other locations in recent years have been generally funded by sports capital grant allocations with the Council providing the necessary 30% match funding for each project.  Beech Park open space will be included for consideration for the provision of a goal post storage compound subject to the identification of a source of funding.
