QUESTION: Councillor H. Farrell

To ask the Manager of any refurbishment plans of Protected Structures and/or heritage buildings owned by SDCC, aimed at bringing them back into community or housing use, in the LEA, planned for 2026?

REPLY:

There are a number of Capital projects being delivered that include conservation repairs and upgrading works for the adaptive reuse or continued use of Protected Structures/historic structures owned by SDCC with community end use. One such project is located within the Lucan/Palmerstown/North Clondalkin area is Lucan House. Priority conservation repair works were undertaken on the property 2025/2026 which included urgent remedial repairs to the roof.  A larger scale conservation programme of works will take place as part of the larger project works.  Procurement is progressing for consultants to manage delivery of the full masterplan for Lucan House, from planning consent through to construction.
