QUESTION NO.4
QUESTION: Councillor R. Mannion
To ask the Manager what is happening with the social housing properties in the Rathfarnham area (details supplied) that were recently flooded and if there is a timeline for their return to use.
REPLY:
The social homes impacted by flooding are managed and maintained by an Approved Housing Body (AHB) on behalf of the council.
We are working closely with the AHB to ensure that these properties are refurbished and returned to productive use at the earliest opportunity.
Following the recent flooding event, it was necessary to allow sufficient time for the building fabric to fully dry out prior to initiating refurbishment works. This is required to avoid moisture retention and potential long-term structural issues. Works will commence as soon as it is practically possible.
