To ask the Chief Executive for an overview of the number of visitors to Palmerstown Library and the scope for additional opening hours for the library
REPLY:
Palmerstown Library officially launched it's extended opening hours from 2 days to 4 days on December 1st 2023 - to include for the first time weekend opening to the public.
Visitor figures for 2025 show that a total of 19 745 people visited the library.
Visitor figures to date in 2026 show that between January and February 2026, 3 427 patrons visited Palmerstown library.
South Dublin County Council Libraries are committed to increasing access to our public libraries.
Further expansion of library opening hours in Palmerstown library is being explored. This will be based on public demand, operational feasibility and staffing resources.
