That, following the recent agreement signed by the four Dublin local authorities with ePower, the Chief Executive report to this Committee with an outline plan for the rollout of EV charging infrastructure in the Lucan Electoral Area.
REPORT:
SDCC, in conjunction with the other Dublin Local Authorities have a 10-year concession framework agreement in place, where ePower has been appointed for the design, installation and operation of destination EV charge points across the entire county of Dublin. An initial 50 projects will be installed within the Dublin region, of which 15 sites have been identified in the SDCC region, following an assessment of the availability of power supply. The initial sites are predominately in carparks of public parks and amenities operated by SDCC, allowing users access to fast charging at destinations.

Works to install the public EV charging infrastructure commenced the week of the 16th March 2026, at Tandy’s Lane, Adamstown Park. Works will start at Dodder Valley, Old Bawn Pavillion the week of the 23rd March.
Installation works take roughly 5 - 8 working days and once initial installation works are completed, an ESB connection will be required, which is predicted to take in the region of 2 – 4 months.
