MOTION: Councillor V. Casserly

That the Manager provide a traffic assessment of Adamstown Boulevard and surrounding junctions, particularly during school drop-off and collection times for schools in the Adamstown area, and examine whether additional traffic management measures, pedestrian crossings, or traffic calming interventions are required to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

REPORT:

Currently, Adamstown Boulevard is not taken in charge by the Council. However, the completion of process for takin in charge is well advanced. When the road is taken in charge, the management and operation of the roads, footpath, cycle paths and public lighting will become the responsibility of South Dublin County Council.  At this point the council will monitor the operation of the road and any issues will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
