MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That this Area Committee request SDCC build a Footpath from Kilcronan straight onto the canal that would be a huge benefit to the residents of Kilcronan, especially with kishoge train station opened and new bus routes on the grange castle road. A footpath would allow residents to access the public transport easily and safely

REPORT:

The Traffic Section of South Dublin County Council will examine the feasibility of providing a footpath connection from Kilcronan to the Grand Canal. As part of this process, the Council will assess potential options for delivering a safe pedestrian link that would improve access to nearby public transport services, including Kishoge Train Station and bus routes operating on Grange Castle Road.

Any proposal for the installation of a footpath at this location will be subject to the outcome of the feasibility assessment and the availability of resources and funding. The matter will be considered as part of the Traffic Section’s ongoing programme of works.
