MOTION : Councillor T. Gilligan

That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to examine, in consultation with Waterways Ireland, whether additional water safety measures, including the provision of lifebuoys where appropriate, could be installed along the canal within this area, and to report back to the Committee on the feasibility and any associated requirements.

REPORT:

Waterways Ireland carry out maintenance on the Greenway under an SLA with South Dublin County Council. We will raise this request with them and report back to the Committee.
