MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That this Area Committee agrees to repair the Brownstown Road, Newcastle. The road currently has multiple large potholes, including one approximately the size of a van in both length and width and around 4–5 inches deep.

REPORT:

The additional volume of traffic on this road in addition to the high volume of rain recently experienced has resulted in this road deteriorating at an unexpected rate.

SDCC have carried out significant works to repair the worst sections and a tender has been sent out to price a permanent repair. We will be trying to identify a funding source to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
