MOTION: Councillor J. Sinnott

This Committee notes in the aftermath of heavy rains the number of potholes in the Rathfarnham / Templeogue / Firhouse / Bohernabreena area have increased substantially. This Committee requests the Council to prioritise resources in relation to pot hole repairs and road upgrading.

REPORT:

In 2026 SDCC allocated €700,000 to the repair of potholes.

Since late January SDCC has been prioritising the repair of road defects that have emerged following the persistent rain. Some of the worst locations for potholes are listed for full resurfacing as part of this year RWP so we are trying to balance out the short term emergency repairs with the long term solution that is currently at tender preparations
