MOTION: Councillor E. Murphy

That the Chief Executive acts on previous motions to this ACM which seek a natural low level boundary to the running track in Dodder Valley Park.

REPORT:

The Public Realm team have reviewed the motion proposed. The suggested introducing a natural low-level boundary, such as hedging, has previously been discussed with representatives of Brother Pearse Running Club. It was agreed that installing a defined hedge boundary in this location could unintentionally create an informal dog run and reduce the current level of passive surveillance for park users.

The Council proposes to shape and define the running track through tree planting, while maintaining passive surveillance and open sightlines across the park.
