MOTION NO.3

MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

That this Area Committee write to An Post seeking an urgent update on ongoing postal delivery issues in the Lucan area including persistent delays, non-delivery and mail being delivered to incorrect addresses. The Committee requests clarification on the causes of these issues including staffing and operational challenges and the measures being taken to restore a reliable service. Particular concern has been raised regarding missed medical appointments, delayed health-related correspondence and the impact on families including those with vulnerable children or older relatives. Given the significant impact on residents' day-to-day lives the Committee further requests that An Post engage directly with the Area Committee either by written response or attendance at a meeting or pre-meeting briefing to outline how these issues will be addressed and prevented from recurring.

REPORT:

 If this motion is passed, a letter in this regard will be issued to An Post on behalf of the Local Area Committee. The response, when received, will be circulated to the Members.
