QUESTION: Councillor J. Spear

"Can the Manager please give an update on the scoping exercise planned for Kingswood, Tallaght (details supplied)? Please include an estimated timeframe for when it will commence and its duration?"

REPLY:

Kingswood Open space is approximately 4 hectares in size and has a range of facilities which includes a playground, teen facility, pitches, tennis courts and exercise equipment.  The ‘scoping exercise’ has already commenced with a series of consultation meetings held in 2025 with the Kingswood Resident Association and the various sporting/interest groups in the area.  The purpose of the meetings was to provide an opportunity for residents and groups to outline their current use of the open space and their concerns/requirements for the future use of the open space.  A consultation meeting was also held with the Elected Members as part of the 'scoping exercise'.

The existing facilities are currently being reviewed and it is proposed to bring a plan to the ACM for consideration.  The plan is subject to budget approval, business case approval and planning approval.
