QUESTION: Cllr. Cathal King

"To ask the Manager, to indicate when the commencment of works on the damaged wall and railings at Cushlawn/ Kiltipper way will take place as the part 8 for these works were passed at full Council level months ago?"

REPLY

The works to the wall & railings at Kiltipper Way and the open space immediately behind it are programmed to commence at the end of October.

Although this project had been prioritised, contractors have expressed little interest to date because of the small size of the proposed works. To comply with procurement procedures the tender deadline has been extended to Friday 15th September.

In the event that no valid tender is received by that date, the Council will enter into direct negotiations with a contractor from the small works panel with a target start date at the end of October.
