QUESTION NO.12

QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

To ask the Chief Executive to confirm whether the Council will write to youth service providers in the Lucan and Lucan-Adamstown areas to obtain information on current and projected youth engagement levels. Can the Chief Executive also outline how existing youth service facilities in these areas compare with other parts of the county on a per-population basis and whether this identifies any deficit in provision.

REPLY:

The Community Department is currently undertaking an audit of community facilities. As part of this process, we are gathering the relevant information and, once complete, we will be in a position to provide an update in response to this question.

However, based on preliminary findings, there is currently one youth service provider operating in the Lucan and Lucan-Adamstown area: Crosscare, which operates from Adamstown Community Centre.
