"Can I ask what works and supports are being put in place for community groups (particularly those ran by volunteers) with the upcoming grants program, and what outreach is being done by those groups who might not have applied before to the council for support?"

The Community Development Grants 2026 are now live and further information can be found here 

Community Grants - SDCC ,  hard copies of the grant booklet will also be distributed over the coming weeks.

The Community Development team has introduced some amendments to the application process this year to improve overall operations and accessibility.

To support applicants, the Community Development team will be delivering a series of workshops for both new and existing groups. These workshops will provide guidance on:

• The recent amendments to the application process
• The different funding streams available
• How to complete and submit a strong application

 Workshops will be delivered both in person and online to ensure accessibility for all groups. Dates, times, and locations will be advertised across SDCC social media platforms and in all Community Centres.
