QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
To ask the Chief Executive if he/she will formally convey the Area Committee’s appreciation to the Community and Tourism Sections for their support in delivering Lucan’s first St Brigid’s Day community event, including the engagement of the Community Representative for the Lucan area and the assistance provided in facilitating the collection of reeds for cross-making in Blessington, and to acknowledge the contribution of the many women involved in making the event a success.
REPLY:
The Chief Executive is very pleased to formally convey the Area Committee’s appreciation to the Community and Tourism Sections for their support in the delivery of Lucan’s first St Brigid’s Day community event.
The event was organised in collaboration between a local resident, Natalie Ryan, and Councillor Liona O’Toole within a very short timeframe, and the support provided by the Council’s teams — particularly the engagement of the new Community Representative for the Lucan area — was greatly valued by the organisers and the wider community.
The assistance provided in facilitating the collection of reeds for cross-making in Blessington added a meaningful and memorable element to the celebration. The Council also wishes to recognise the many women whose efforts contributed to making the event such a success.
This message of thanks will be formally passed on to all involved.
