MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to meet with the Management Company of Airton Plaza to discuss the potential usage of retained commercial spaces by tenants, as the shortage of spaces is causing great difficulties for tenants?"

REPORT:

The granted planning permission at the Airton Plaza calls for 184no. parking spaces for the 328no. dwelling units.  This is a parking ratio of 0.56 parking spaces per unit.  Also the grant of permission insists that 14no. car share spaces are included within the residential parking allocation.

This is a low parking ratio, but the figure is not the lowest levels granted in the Tallaght electoral area.

If this motion is passed, the executive agrees to meet Clúid, who are the managers of the development, to discuss parking management at the Airton Plaza development.  In particular, South Dublin County Council will discuss all parking allocations at the development including the commercial element within the development.

SDCC will follow up with any actions resulting from the meeting with Clúid by sending an email to all elected members of the Tallaght ACM.
