MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

That this area committee calls on the Manager to engage with the National Transport Authority and Transport for Ireland to seek the installation of a bus shelters at suitable locations serving Killinarden Heights, in recognition of the high level of passenger usage, exposure to adverse weather conditions, and the needs of older people, children, and people with disabilities who rely on these stops daily.

REPORT:

The Council acknowledges the request regarding the provision of bus shelters at suitable locations serving Killinarden Heights.

South Dublin County Council engages on an ongoing basis with the National Transport Authority and Transport for Ireland through the Bus Stop Enhancement Programme, which provides funding for the upgrade of bus stops across the county.

The locations serving Killinarden Heights have been added for bus shelter review under the Bus Stop Enhancement Programme and will be assessed in consultation with the National Transport Authority. The delivery of a bus shelter at any location is subject to the availability of resources, site-specific design constraints, and formal approval by the National Transport Authority.
