MOTIONS: Councillor C. Brady

This committee calls on the Chief Executive to deliver a comprehensive project status update at the December meeting on the Sarsfield Park Age Friendly development. The update should include, but not be limited to: Current stage of construction and works completed to date, Outstanding works and expected timelines for completion, Whether the project is on track against the agreed programme and budget, Details of any delays or risks identified and mitigation measures in place, and Updated projected completion date and handover plans

REPORT:

Construction at the Sarsfield Park Age-Friendly development is well advanced. The building structure is complete, roofing works have begun, and internal services installation is underway. Mechanical and electrical works have commenced on the ground floor, and internal partitioning is in place.

The remaining works include roof completion, installation of windows and doors, internal finishes such as plastering, carpentry and painting, and the finalisation of external utility connections and site works. These activities will continue over the coming months.

The project has experienced some delay due mainly to unanticipated ground conditions, longer-than-expected utility connection lead times, and weather impacts on external works. The project team is actively working to recover time by rescheduling internal activities to run in parallel where possible and by maintaining close coordination with ESB and Uisce Éireann to minimise any further delays to utility connections. The completion date remains Q1 2026. There are currently no cost overruns, and the project remains within the approved budget.
