QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

To ask the Chief Executive, further to the motion I had previously passed regarding the provision of basketball facilities within the Adamstown Community Centre and Adamstown Community College if an update can now be provided on progress to date. While it is acknowledged that some progress has been made the project appears to have stalled and I am asking that every effort be made to help advance and finalise this long-awaited facility, given the level of community demand and the time elapsed since the initial motion was agreed.

REPLY:

Work continues on this project and following on from the last update, a meeting was arranged with the Planning Department to discuss access to the proposed court and gate installation. Planning have raised some concerns and we are working with them to address these concerns. 

Meanwhile  the Deed of Transfer and Grant of Easements were requested from the land registry and this will now enable an informed decision to be made with all relevant stakeholders involved.
