MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

That the Chief Executive install concrete/stone benches in Glenaulin Park, similar to those installed recently in California Hills by Dublin City Council. (photo attached)

REPORT:

Stone benches similar to the one in the photograph attached to the Motion were previously installed in Glenaulin Park.  Unfortunately, they had to be removed due to persistent anti-social behaviour and damage caused to footpaths in the vicinity as a result of fires.  The Public Realm Section would be willing to trial a similar bench on the understanding that if anti social activities persist it will be removed.  A stone bench will be listed for inclusion in the draft Public Realm Improvement Works Programme 2026 for consideration.
