QUESTION NO.11

QUESTION: Councillor C. Brady

To ask the Chief Executive what contingencies are in place to address urgent window and door replacements in Lucan, given that stock condition surveys for social housing units in Lucan are not scheduled until Q3/Q4 2026. How will the council ensure that delays in surveying do not have a detrimental effect on critical replacements for our tenants?

REPLY:

The council has commenced periodic property inspections, whereby properties will be inspected on a 5-year cycle. The findings of the surveys will feed into an ongoing multi-annual Stock Investment Programme which will include the Window and Door Replacement Programme, with the aim to reduce the current level of reactive maintenance requests and to improve the overall value for money and enhanced delivery of the service to tenants.

Requests for urgent replacement of windows and doors will be considered where a safety concern is identified.

Tenants should log their request for an inspection through their housing online account.
