MOTION NO.2

MOTION: Councillor D. Donnelly

"This chamber calls on the council to carry out an investigation and maintenance report on the standard of health and hygiene at the kingswood athletic/football club regarding the changing rooms. There is mould in the changing rooms and there is damp coming into the facility.?"

REPORT:

An assessment of the roof has been carried out and there are a number of areas where the roof membrane has broken down which is allowing water into the building.  The water ingress is manifesting primarily on the internal corridor party wall.  To rectify the situation the Public Realm Section is currently obtaining quotes the have the roof repaired.  Once this work has been undertaken and the walls have dried out it proposed to paint the walls.

In tandem with the above the boiler has been inspected and we are currently awaiting a proposal from a boiler specialist regarding the upgrade or replacement of the unit.
