An update on school zone safety works in the area.

School Zones – St Ronan’s NS.

Work began in mid-August. There were slight alterations to design on site and the raised table crossing was moved further along St Cuthbert’s Rd. This created a “chicane” so children would not run straight out from school gate.

The project led met with the Principal the week the children returned to school, she was talking to parents from the board of management and all three were happy with the works. and has recently reported  a “Hugely positive reaction to the new layout.”

Works to be completed are the rondels or coloured circles on the road outside the school and the signage to indicate the entrance to the school zone.
