QUESTION: Councillor J. Sinnott

To ask the chief executive to set out the timelines and project plan for the redevelopment of the Rathfarnham Castle and Stables project.

REPLY:

Following the passing of the Part 8 of the Castle Stables and Courtyard at Rathfarnham project, SDCC is now progressing to the detailed design stage. To this end, the multi-disciplinary architect led design team has commenced detailed design of the project as well as preparing applications for disability access certs and fire certification, with this work due to be advanced between now and year-end. Tender documents for a works contractor will also be prepared before tendering for a build contractor, with the expectation that construction will commence in Q2 2026. The Elected Members will be updated as the project progresses and once finalised details are in place regarding the project's construction start-date.
